Passaic County runs from the dense Silk City blocks of Paterson and Passaic up through suburban Wayne and into the wooded Highlands of West Milford — and the window work changes completely as you move north. The southern Passaic housing stock is dominated by Paterson and Passaic's 1900-1940 two- and three-family frame homes, most still carrying their original single-pane double-hung sash. The most common project we run here is full energy-efficient replacement — swapping rope-and-weight single-panes for insulated vinyl or fiberglass double-hungs that cut heating bills in homes that leak air at every meeting rail.
